Description

We’re delighted to invite all alumni of the Regenerative Design Lab to join us for our Autumn Research Workshop, taking place from 22–23 September 2026.

Since the Lab began in 2022, more than 90 practitioners have taken part across seven very different cohorts. Together, we’ve built a growing community of engineers and other built-environment professionals working to enable the transition to a regenerative built environment.

This workshop is an opportunity to reconnect with that community, share what we’ve learnt since our time in the Lab, explore current challenges in our work and discover new opportunities for collaboration.

A new chapter for the Lab

The Autumn Research Workshop will also mark the first event in what we hope will become the northern home of the Regenerative Design Lab.

We’ll be gathering at The Beeches, a beautiful venue in the Hope Valley, between Sheffield and Manchester. Our ambition is to bring the Regenerative Design Lab experience closer to those for whom Salisbury has always been a little too far south, while continuing to build the relationships and sense of place that have always been central to the Lab.

The workshop will be co-facilitated by Oliver Broadbent and Stella McKenna. Stella, a member of Cohort 6, has a long association with The Beeches and will help introduce us to this remarkable landscape as we explore its potential as the future home of RDL North, launching in Spring 2027.

Our research brief

Rather than arriving with a fixed agenda, we’ll work together around three broad intentions:

* Strengthen the interconnections within our community.
* Create new exchanges of ideas, experience and support.
* Create the conditions for new collaborations and opportunities to emerge.

As always, the exact direction of the workshop will emerge from the interests, questions and experience of those who attend.
