How should we think about a design brief? As a source of certainty; a point of reference? Or as a starting point for a journey of co-exploration with the client? These are the questions that Oliver is getting into today in his lectures today on the IDBE Masters programme at Cambridge University.
Learning how to work with a design brief is one of the core conceptual design skills we teach at Constructivist. It is through the brief development phase that we can gain a relationship of trust with our clients. It is also the point at which we can unlock the potential of a project. And from a regenerative design perspective, it is the point in a project at which we can ask at what level in the system are we intervening.
